‘Sown #3’ is patched from repurposed jeans and khadi cotton before being quilted. The dark areas and holes in the fabric are reminiscent of manmade marks on the landscape – patches as paddocks, with the quilting lines forming ploughed troughs in the fields – inviting parallels between industrial agriculture and fast fashion with the very real consequences of our actions now being felt in fires, floods, increasing natural disasters and food insecurity.
