Sugarbag is a modern hexagon quilt pattern with bold shapes and plenty of negative space. Named after Australia’s native honeybee, this design reimagines a vintage favourite in a fresh, oversized style that works beautifully in solids or paired with a striking large-scale print.

The pattern includes three options: a cushion made with English paper piecing (EPP), or throw and queen sizes that can be pieced by machine. For the larger quilts, you can choose between sewing full hexagons in columns (with y-seams) or a quicker half-hexagon method.
