This course will introduce you to the fundamentals of patchwork using traditional blocks with a modern twist – starting with easy square piecing in week one and moving through to curves in week four. For those who have some experience making quilts, the course will help you explore your preferred style and give you the confidence to make quilts without a pattern.
Over five weeks we’ll cover fabric and thread selection, creating colour palettes, construction, layout and finishing techniques.
If you’re happy to do some sewing homework, you can easily have a completed quilt top by the end of the course.
Open to beginners and up. You should have basic sewing skills and be able to sew a straight line on your machine.
